Welcome to San Francisco’s Church of Scientology
Our reception extends a welcome to anyone wishing to obtain an introduction to Dianetics and Scientology. We are open morning to evening, seven days a week.

The Scientology Public Information Center
Our Public Information Center offers more than 500 films, providing a complete introduction to every aspect of Dianetics and Scientology—including the beliefs and practices of the religion as well as a biographical presentation on the life and legacy of Founder L. Ron Hubbard. Our Information Center further presents exhibits on the many humanitarian initiatives and community outreach programs Churches of Scientology sponsor throughout the world. Visitors to the Center are welcome to tour the displays at their leisure for as long as they wish and to return as often as they like.

The Chapel
The Chapel naturally provides for all Scientology congregational ceremonies and services—including Sunday Services, Weddings and Naming Ceremonies. It also serves as a venue for weekly Church graduations, as well as public lectures, workshops and community gatherings.

Dianetics & Scientology Bookstore
The bookstore makes available Founder L. Ron Hubbard’s works on Dianetics and Scientology.
In all, Mr. Hubbard’s legacy comprises tens of millions of published words in dozens of books and thousands of recorded lectures. A Materials Guide Chart provides an informational overview of every book and lecture series, while an audiovisual system allows one to listen to selections from Mr. Hubbard’s lectures. These materials are available in 16 languages.

Introductory Services
Our Church provides for the delivery of all Introductory Services. These include courses for the study of L. Ron Hubbard’s Dianetics and Scientology books and recorded lectures, and the Success through Communication Course that teaches the underlying skill to succeed in both work and social relationships.

Introductory Services
Among the many further services available is an array of Scientology Life Improvement Courses that empower anyone with the tools to improve any aspect of life.

The Purification Center
L. Ron Hubbard developed the Purification Program to free individuals from the mental and spiritual damage caused by drugs and toxins, through a regimen of exercise, sauna and nutrition. These are all provided for in our Purification Center, housed in what was once the bank vault of the Transamerica Building.

The Hubbard Guidance Center
The Hubbard Guidance Center is where Scientologists participate in one-on-one spiritual counseling, known as auditing.

Auditing Room
Just beyond the waiting room are dozens of auditing rooms, each one ideally appointed to provide the calm, distraction-free setting requisite to achieving spiritual enlightenment.

The Academy
The Academy is where Scientologists train to become auditors (spiritual counselors), capable of applying the technology of auditing to help others attain spiritual freedom. San Francisco’s Academy comprises an entire floor of our Church, with multiple course rooms, each devoted to a different aspect of training. Here, auditors are trained for dozens of Scientology Missions and Groups across the Bay Area.

The Office of L. Ron Hubbard
As is traditional in all Churches of Scientology, the Office of L. Ron Hubbard stands in honor of our Founder and symbolizes that this Church is true to his writings and ideals.

The History of the Transamerica Building
The original Transamerica Building, now home of the Church of Scientology of San Francisco, stands adjacent to the Transamerica Pyramid and is a registered historical landmark and prominent feature of the Jackson Square Historic District.

Since 1968, we have served a growing congregation throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Today, it is our honor to extend our help to every community from our home in the original, landmark Transamerica Building.

Our Church realizes Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard’s vision that all Churches of Scientology become what he termed Ideal Organizations (Orgs). Ideal Orgs not only provide the ideal facilities to service Scientologists on their ascent to higher states of spiritual freedom, but they also serve as a home for the entire community and a meeting ground of cooperative effort to uplift people of all denominations.

To that end, we share our Church and our many social betterment and humanitarian programs with San Francisco.

We look forward to working with the diverse individuals and groups dedicated to uplifting society in this world-class city. Together, we can achieve our common dream of a drug-free, crime-free and flourishing future for all.

GRAND OPENING

On November 29, 2003, Mr. David Miscavige, Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center and ecclesiastical leader of the Scientology religion, officially opened the doors of the new Church of Scientology of San Francisco. Addressing 2,500 Scientologists and guests, Mr. Miscavige dedicated the restored landmark Transamerica Building, in the heart of downtown San Francisco, to a new era of spiritual activity.
